The mission of the Community Forest is to manage, harvest, protect and expand the timber and non-timber resources of the Community Forest in a professional, balanced, sustainable, and transparent fashion for the benefit of the community.

Through the effective management of the Community Forest, social and economic benefits to the Wells Gray Country residents, including the District of Clearwater are provided.

Both, the Wells Gray Community Forest Corporation and the Wells Gray Community Forest Society have volunteer-run Boards and on the occasion of National Volunteer Week April 14 to 20, Black Press Media’s Clearwater Times featured the Corporation and the Society’s volunteers.

Wells Gray Community Forest Corporation and Wells Gray Community Forest Society holds a public information and input session in the fall. The Corporation participates in the local Career Fair with the goal of building capacity in forestry. Procedures to apply for both boards are an advertisement in the local media when director positions are vacant. Any Wells Gray resident with the required experience that will balance the boards needed skills and experience can apply.
